Great colors - thanks! I miss the TRUE fall of the up north; we don't get much leaf changing here in NE FL.
Oh no, that means it's coming soon in nyc too, I'm going to have to pick up a ton of leaves...a huge maple and oak in my front yard.
Carol - We used to live on the next street over and fall was a very favourite time of mine with all the colour ..... when the sun shone brightly the colours penetrated every window in the house bathing the inside with falls cavalcade of colour.
Tori - whiel I used to love the fall when we lived in the neighbourhood Barrie did not enjoy the leaf raking we had several century maples that would put a blanket of leaves on our property. Barrie used to make a pile at the curb that was three feet wide three feet high and about 50 feet long of packed leaves.
In Northern CA, it seems that the leaves never look like this!
Hi Kathy - Great photograph of the tree in full autumn colours.
Does Uxbridge have a service to gather the piles of leaves at the curb towards the end of fall? Toronto has it in some neighbourhoods.
Chris - ah but you have the four S's sun, sea, surf and sand
Mark - for years now (bagged) but there was a time when most would rake them to the curb and burn them. It usually took most of the day to burn ours as they were nearly always wet or at least damp.
Kathy,
Good picture. In a few weeks it will be rather dreary, at least until we get snow.
Brian
You mentioned in one of your comments about burning leaves... that's what we did when I was a kid, but it was banned by the time I had kids. I really do miss that signature smell of fall. We should be in full color by next week... 'can't wait.
Brian - The colour is all but gone now and the posibility of snow is already here with possible flurries alredy having been in the weather forcast
Margaret - definitely a signature smell of fall in Uxbridge for many years. When the leaves were damp the smoke around town was almost too much
Hi Kathy, Very nice and thank you for sharing your Fall Colors with the group.
William - always glad to share pictuers as well as 'positive' information on the local market
